Pirate wench Ima Wench (name TBA) is played by Karen Szymarek. Karen Szymarek (don't ask me; I can't say it either) came to my attention when, shortly after the 2009 Midwest Renaissnace Festival in Omaha, Nebraska, she added the Pirate Comedy Show to her MySpace page. I believe the conversation went something like this: Her: "When's your next show?" Me: "Don't know. I currently don't have a pirate wench." Her: "Well, I'm an actor so maybe I can help." Me: "Okay, I'll keep that in mind." ...then, six months later, this highly paraphrased conversation returned to my mind and Karen was contacted to see if she would be interested in performing at the 2009 Midlands Pirate Festival in Omaha. After a week of rehearsals, this event was cancelled due to the forecast of snow, but at least it helped get the show a new pirate wench. Background information on Karen coming soon... |
